Here is a gorgeous Queen Anne cabinet that I had bought for our old villa back in Christchurch.... wait until you see the makeover!
Recently I shared with you our home tour of our gorgeous villa we had in Christchurch New Zealand. Missed it? No worries check it out now.
We bought most of our furniture to fit in with the style of this property. Unfortunately, now that we live in a different property this beautiful piece of furniture had been sent to the garage. Not because I didn't love it! It just didn't have just the right place.... until inspiration struck!
I thought, why don't I paint it in a chalk paint and put it in the dining room. My reserved personality thought that I should play it safe and paint it white, but I had some navy blue sample pots lying around and decided I needed to be more daring.
After several coats of paint and varnish and NO SANDING I now have a piece that looks very much at home in our dining room. It took me probably 2 hours all up for this project as I used a special secret... no sanding, no preparation required! And all will be revealed to my Soulful Mumma family soon!
Take a look... what do you think? Do you like it better before or after?
