The benefits of onions

One of the friendliest herbs on the purse strings and so readily available, along with garlic, onions are one of the most medicinally useful herbs.

Onions can be used as a natural antibiotic, antiviral agent, onions can act as a diuretic, they can help with insomnia and can help with skin problems. They can be used to treat sore throats, bronchitis, asthma, fevers, sinusitis, to help reduce blood cholesterol and to strengthen the heart. 

They can be taken as a hot remedy, in a cold drink, used as a poultice and for bites, stings and chilblains.
