Street front

I love house tours. If there was one thing that I love surfing on the internet it would be houses. In my next few DIY posts I will be talking about our previous property in Christchurch so I thought I would take you on a guided tour.

Welcome to our home! From the moment I saw this property online for sale I fell in love. I remember walking through the front gates and turning to Caleb and said "This is it!" I hadn't even walked in the front door and I was in love.

One thing I regret is that I didn't take photos of the details. Like as you walk into the front door you are greeted with a wide hall way with an arch that was a piece of art. There were also rosettes in every room that enticed you to lie on the floor and stare up at them for hours. I must say, this has been my favourite house to own. I love character and this had bags of it! So, make yourself comfortable and let's go for a tour.

formal lounge

This is our formal lounge and music room. The red room :-) You can see how high the ceilings are in this room. (For comparison, the cabinet in the corner is 1.6m high)

Family room

The heart of the home, the family room! I love this space. There is nothing more relaxing than on a cold winter's day snuggling up to a fire with my little ones. One of the many features that I love in this room is the built in cabinets and the high fire surround.

Dining room

This is our dining room with French doors out onto the deck. The walls are almost black (not sure of the name of the colour) but I love them. Before this room all of our previous homes were painted half draught (a neutral colour).

Our kitchen. Now, you thought that almost black walls were a change? These green walls were totally out of my comfort zone. However, the only thing that I would change in this room was the cupboard under the sink :-)

main bedroom

The main bedroom. I love all of the ornate fireplaces (there are 5 in total).

G bedroom

The nursery.

J bedroom

Our little kiddos room.

bathroom 2

Our guest bathroom with claw foot bath.

bathroom 1

The family bathroom.

And finally our backyard.

I hope you enjoyed the house tour.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you again soon.
